Submission Requirements:
Submission must be for a black womxn. This includes, but is not limited to, individuals that are of African American, African, or Caribbean descent and individuals that identity as female.
Submission must be for an adult (18+). Youth may be submitted with parental consent.
Submission must include a bio and a message that the individual wants to share. This can be an inspirational story, a business, a goal or aspiration, or a cultural moment.
Pictures submitted must be _____. Headshots, 3/4, and full body pictures will be accepted. Selfies will not be accepted. A professionally taken photo is encouraged, but if that is not possible, that’s okay! The best images will have natural lighting, a solid color or clean background, and clear focus. Make sure that it is relevant to the story! For example, if you are a clothing designer, show yourself with your clothes. If you are sharing a moment about family, include a family picture (throwbacks will be accepted!).
Be sure to proofread! Avoid grammatical and spelling errors by having a second pair of eyes on your work or using an app like Grammarly.
No story is too small. Submit stories that are relatable, passionate, happy, sad, inspiring, funny, heartwarming, or just entertaining. Please only submit your life experiences or how an experience has affected your life. Remember that we are spotlighting YOU.
